My name is Lei Shi (石磊 in Chinese). I am a lecturer in SETU, Ireland. I received my Master in computer science from Uppsala University, Sweden, and the PhD degree from University of Goettingen, Germany. I also worked in companies such as Dell-EMC Research Europe, Huawei Technologies and Hutchison Optel. I was a visiting professor in Technion, Israel and a visiting researcher at the University of Massachusetts, USA.
My research interests are cloud computing, network management, renewable energy economics, and machine learning. I have published more than 50 papers in international journals and conferences. I have served as a TPC member, guest editor, and reviewer for more than 20 prestigious journals and conferences. I have taught 13 different courses at 5 different colleges and supervised three PhD students.
I have participated in a number of competitively funded European and Irish national projects including the SliceNet (EU H2020), NEAT (EU H2020), EFIPSANS (EU FP7) and FAME (SFI) , and is the primary investigator of MobileCloud project funded by Irish Research Council and EU Marie-Curie Actions.
